Phil Smith is a documentary photographer. He has photographed people and their environments for over 50 years.  This site serves two purposes:  To present many of his images in various porfolios as well as to provide a blog link between him and his family and friends, narrating  on a weekly basis stories he creates out of what he sees. My journal is part of my attempt to understand what I see and hear.  One writer put it this way, when asked why he wrote: "How do I know what I think until I see what I say."
